My favorite treat as kid; a notch above the regular Rice Krispie treats.
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
Cook sugar and syrup together in a 3 quart pan over moderate heat, until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat, and stir in the peanut butter. Mix the cereal into the sugar/peanut butter mixture. Press into a buttered 13"x9"x2" pan. Let harden. Melt over hot (not boiling) water: chocolate and butterscotch chips, stirring to blend. Spread over cereal mixture. Chill about 5 minutes, until top is firm. Cut into 2"x1" bars.

Sourdough English Muffins
Stan's recipe. We made these this morning (Merry Christmas!).
1/2 Cup Sourdough Starter
1 Cup milk
2 3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
Combine starter, milk, and 2 cups flour. Let rise overnight. Mix 1/2 cup flour, sugar, salt and soda; mix into dough. Knead with remaining flour. Roll out to 3/4 inch thickness and cut into 3 inch muffins using a wide mouth glass. Place 1 inch apart on waxed paper (sprinkle with white corn meal if you wish). Cover with waxed paper and let rise 45 minutes. Fry on a lighly greased griddle at med-high or electric skillet @ 275 degrees. Fry 8-10 minutes per side, turning once.
